In this presentation, participants will gain insight into the issues and challenges of a family member (sibling) attempting to take care of an adult member with disability while other members of the household adjust to life changes, such as careers, retirement, immigration & citizenship, and senior citizen health care systems.
Presenter: Miss Gissel Esobedo. Miss Escobedo holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the College of Education at University of Illinois at Chicago. She is a LEND Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and related Disabilities (LEND) graduate. She has worked for 9 nine years as an elementary school teacher. She is currently a Fellow with a Chicago community organization that focuses on immigration, education and affordable housing.
